Effective March 11, 2025
The CDC has officially lifted the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for immigrant visa applicants.
What This Means
COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required for visa approval
Applicants previously found ineligible due to vaccine status may now request a
new medical exam — free of charge
Exams must be scheduled through the U.S. embassy or consulate where the
application was originally submitted
Next Steps for Affected Applicants
If your visa was delayed or denied solely because of vaccine requirements, you may now be eligible to resume your application without penalty. This change could reopen the door to your immigration process.
