This May, Williams Global Law continued its mission of advancing opportunity and access for global investors, entrepreneurs, and students through a series of high-impact engagements across Washington, D.C. Below are a few key moments from a dynamic and inspiring month:



🇮🇳 Hosting the India Delegation

 

Williams Global Law, in partnership with the DC Chamber of Commerce (DCC), proudly hosted a delegation of Indian startup founders led by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at our Washington, D.C. offices. The in-office gathering provided a valuable platform for dynamic discussion on expanding business opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs in the nation’s capital. The event brought together key leaders from the D.C. business and economic development ecosystem, including:

 

 

In her dual role as Board Member and Co-Chair of the DCC International Business Committee (IBC), Simone Williams, Founder and Managing Partner of Williams Global Law, introduced the IACC delegation to the Committee’s mission: advancing global trade by strengthening ties between international partners and Washington, D.C.’s local business community. She also shared insights from her immigration law practice, highlighting employment-based visa pathways available to foreign entrepreneurs seeking to expand into the U.S. market.


Featured Speaker at SelectUSA Investment Summit

 

Founder and Managing Attorney, Simone Williams was invited to speak at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s flagship event promoting foreign direct investment in the United States. Ms. Williams presented on immigration pathways available to international investors and business leaders, with a focus on practical strategies for startup founders entering the U.S. market.

 

In addition to speaking, she had the pleasure of welcoming delegations from India and Singapore at the Washington, D.C. booth, further strengthening global ties and promoting D.C. as a destination for innovation and investment.






DC Business Spotlight Panel

 

As part of the SelectUSA spin-off programming, Ms. Williams joined fellow business leaders for the DC Business Spotlight Panel, where she discussed the top reasons companies choose to relocate to Washington, D.C. The conversation highlighted the city’s position as a global business hub and emphasized the value of inclusive economic development and immigrant entrepreneurship.

 





Advising F-1 Students at GW Business School

Williams Global Law also engaged with international students at The George Washington University School of Business, where Ms. Williams shared strategic advice on visa options for F-1 students planning to remain and work in the U.S. after graduation. The session underscored the firm’s commitment to empowering the next generation of global leaders.
