A Legacy of Leadership, Diplomacy, and National Pride. 🇯🇲
Â
Last month, on March 28, 2025, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Ambassador Audrey Marks, who completed her tenure as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, having served two historic terms — first from 2010 to 2012, and again from 2016 to 2024.
Â
Ambassador Marks made history as the first woman to hold this esteemed diplomatic post and remains the only ambassador to serve two non-consecutive terms in Washington, D.C.

During her time in office, she was a tireless advocate for the Jamaican diaspora and a key voice in advancing trade, tourism, cultural diplomacy, and economic partnerships between Jamaica and the U.S.
Â
From her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic to her bold representation of Caribbean interests on the global stage, Ambassador Marks has left a lasting impact on bilateral relations and inspired a new generation of women leaders in diplomacy.
Â
We thank Ambassador Marks for her outstanding service and wish her continued success in all future endeavors.
Â
Walk good, Ambassador. 🇯🇲
