F-1 International Students Allowed to Extend STEM OPT beyond February 12, 2016

F-1 International students who have a valid STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) Employment Authorization Document (EAD) can continue to work beyond February 12, 2016. The applications for STEM OPT will be accepted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) through May 10, 2016.

The allowable OPT period will be increased from 29 to 36 months.
